The NuFact 06 Workshop
This is the starting page for information on the NuFact 06 Workshop itself. Use the menu at left, or the
links below, to see
detailed information on specific sub-topics. Information on the ISS Pre-Meeting and NuFact Summer School
is accessible via the menu at the top of this page.
Program
The Workshop will run from the morning of Thursday, August 24 through lunchtime on Wednesday, August 30.
Saturday, August 26 will be an open day, with no talks and an optional excursion (if there is sufficient
interest).
Topics will include neutrino oscillation, neutrino scattering, high-intensity muon physics,
accelerator R&D for future muon and neutrino experiments, detector technology, and related topics.
Another highlight of NuFact 06 will be presentation and discussion of the report of the
International
Scoping Study for a future neutrino factory and superbeam facility.
More information on the program is available here, and will be updated periodically.
The program is broken down into plenary sessions and
four working groups. The plenary program is organized
by the Scientific Program Committee, while the working group programs
are organized by regional co-convenors.
Meeting Site
All scientific sessions of the Workshop (as well as the welcome reception) will be hosted by the
Arnold and Mabel Beckman Center of the National Academies
("the Beckman Center"), located on the campus of the University of California, Irvine.
This state-of-the-art,
award-winning facility offers a relaxing and comfortable venue for our work. Continental breakfast, a full lunch
and morning and afternoon coffee breaks will be provided on-site. Wireless connectivity is available through
the Center, and a number of fully-equipped offices with computers are at our disposal for individual work or
small group meetings.
The site is located five minutes from the workshop hotel. Bus transportation will be provided, and
parking is free.
More details about the meeting venue is available here, and on
the Beckman Center web site.

The University of California, Irvine is located in Orange County, California and is easily accessible
by air or ground transportion. Particularly convenient is Orange County's
John Wayne Airport (SNA), a modern,
but uncrowded airport located only five minutes from the meeting site and hotel, and offering direct

away and serviced by flights from all over the world.
Bus transportation to and from all scheduled Workshop activities will be provided, and a car
will not be necessary, but participants may still wish to consider renting one to have a wider choice of dinner,
sight-seeing and shopping options.
Additional information on travel to and within Southern California is
available here.
Excursion
Based on requests, we have organized an optional excursion to the
Getty Museum on Satuday, August 26. For more information, please see
